Southern Roofing Systems funds this guide because they believe informed homeowners make better decisions — and better decisions lead to better outcomes for everyone involved. They don't control what we publish.

When we discuss specific products, systems, or substrates, we do so based on published specifications, field performance data, and installer experience — not sponsorship deals.

Our Editorial Philosophy

We write with a simple set of principles:

• Honest. If a metal roof isn't the right choice for your situation, we'll say so. We have an entire page dedicated to when metal is not worth the money.
• Specific. Generic roofing advice is everywhere. We focus on what matters for Gulf Coast conditions — salt air corrosion, hurricane-force wind, extreme heat, and the specific building codes that apply here.
